Retirement Visa (Non-Immigrant O / O-A / O-X)

This type of visa is for individuals aged 50 and above who wish to retire and reside long-term in Thailand based on stable income or savings from abroad.

Thailand offers different long-stay options for retirees under Non-Immigrant “O”, O-A and O-X categories.

Eligibility

• Minimum age: 50 years or older

Financial Requirements (standard)

• Savings and/or income proof showing sufficient means to support long-term residence. Official Thai requirements often include maintaining funds in a Thai bank account (e.g., ~800,000 THB or equivalent) or proof of monthly income, depending on the specific visa type and embassy guidelines.

Key Requirements

• Valid passport
• Bank statements and proof of financial capacity
• TM30 registration (address registration in Thailand)
• Documents as required by the issuing Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate

Important Notes

• Non-Immigrant O/A visas for retirement can be renewed annually through Thai Immigration
• Health insurance may be required for certain long-stay retirement visas (e.g., O-A)
